Motivational interview?

Is motivational interview a clinical tool?

It's not a job interview, neither it's a coaching session. It's a technique to prompt a change in patient's lifestyle that physicians and nurses could/should use it in their cabinets. Much of health care today involves helping patients manage conditions whose outcomes can be greatly influenced by lifestyle or behaviour change. Motivational interview (MI) is a powerful tool to enhance communication with patients and guide them in making choices to improve their health, from weight loss, exercise, and smoking cessation, to medication adherence. Its effectiveness has been proven by numerous research. MI can last from 15 to 160 minutes, depending on the setting.

Where from to get all this time? You know Ligence's opinion: automate manual tasks!

Have you had experience in delivering or participating in a MI? If so, what's your feedback?
